Staff Mentor (Part Time)

About This Job

Dragonfly Designs is seeking a passionate and experienced Staff Mentor to join our team. This role is critical in developing our teachers by providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and classroom management techniques. The Staff Mentor will have a solid understanding of Early Childhood Education developmental principles and effective classroom management strategies, which they will share in team meetings and demonstrate in the classroom alongside our instructors.

This is a part-time role, working 10-15 hours a week, with a combination of remote work for content development and in-person classroom support. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teacher Development: Provide mentorship and support to our teaching staff, helping them to build their skills and knowledge to progress through our teaching tiers and meet expectations.
  • Classroom Observation: Act as a collaborative classroom observer, working with our staff to improve their teaching methods and classroom management techniques.
  • Training and Meetings: Conduct training sessions and meetings with our team to share best practices in Early Childhood Education and classroom management.
  • Content Development: Develop training materials and content to support teacher development, both for our local team in the Bay Area and a remote team in San Diego.
  • Event Support: Assist teachers in promoting our offerings, such as Art Experiences for birthday parties, corporate events, and social occasions like Mitzvahs, at public venues such as Farmer’s Markets and Fairs.
  • Team Building: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field. (preferred)
    • Strong understanding of Early Childhood Education developmental principles and classroom management techniques.
    • Experience in teaching and mentoring educators, with a proven track record of developing and improving teaching skills.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to engage and inspire both children and adults.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in developing training materials and conducting effective training sessions.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Collaborative and supportive mindset.
    • Passion for education and a commitment to fostering creativity and learning.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to adapt to various teaching environments and needs.

Compensation
